Money wise or Other wise : Financial travel tips

When you are in a foreign country , the most  important possession besides your passport is the money you carry. Here are a few tips to warn you beforehand against possible challenges

Don’ts
1.All eggs in one basket : Never put all your money in a single purse or on a single person.In event of any theft , you will have nothing left

2.Carrying  all your money while sightseeing : All hotels provide an electronic safe to keep your  valuables and money so make use of it. Carry only the amount you will need during the day

3.Carrying your passport while sightseeing is very risky and there are some places known for thefts and purse snatching
Put your passport in the hotel locker and carry only a photocopy of your visa and passport  pages. In event of losing your passport , you will be immediately sent back to India regardless of your itinerary

Do’s
1.Always divide the money between your family members while travelling to minimize the risk
2.Take a currency and international debit card combination instead of just cash. A debit card is pin protected and can be cancelled in event of its theft. Also if you need more money , it can be loaded from India , by your forex handler
3.Always take an overseas  mediclaim  policy to protect you against any mishap while on tour. These policies also cover baggage loss , passport loss and flight misconnection
